BEACH SUNSET

Great Ball of Fire…

I like the vibrant colours in this painting. It’s an acrylic on canvas done in CMYK+W. The rocks, beach, and water are my favourite parts of the piece. However, the things that kind of bother me are:

1) The perspective is off. Not a major issue to me since this has always been a struggle, and until I force myself to work at it bad perspective will be a re-occurring theme. But it’s still annoying.

2) Most niggling is that the sunset looks like fire raging in the background. I really had a hard time making the setting sun glow and blending the orange and purple while not getting it muddy.

But hey, it was fun to paint and practice is the key to achieving greatness.
