MYSTIC FLOWER

A Matched Pair…

I have needed a picture in my room since I moved to my current place in the fall and over the holidays I have finally done something. I call the pair Mystic Flower. I wanted to create a painting on canvas that was somewhat abstract and would subtly blend in with my bedroom decor.

I had some extra canvases and leftover latex wall paint of teal and mint green from a previous project, and I thought they would complement quite my room well. To give the flowers a luminous quality I added silver acrylic paint, and for contrast a dark burnt brown acrylic paint. The background, I made textured and grungy to give an earthy ethereal quality.

I had a lot of fun painting the pair of flowers and they look beautiful in my space.
